Hi, I’m Charlie Murphy, a 15-year-old rower from Windsor Boys School Boat Club taking on the equivalent distance of the English Channel — 21 miles (34km) — both on the water and on the erg to raise money for a high-performance rowing camp in Portugal this Easter.
This training camp will be a huge step in preparing for an important summer season ahead, including the National Schools’ Regatta and the British Rowing Championships — and potentially the start of a GB Pathway journey.
Rowing has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to keep pushing when it hurts. Taking on the Channel distance is my way of showing how committed I am to improving and competing at the highest level I can.
This camp will give me access to high-quality coaching, intense training sessions, and the chance to develop both technically and physically before the biggest races of the year.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help me take another stroke towards Portugal — and towards my goals this summer.
